Insect Pest Eradication in Organic Materials
Dry Rot Eradication

Thermo Lignum® has pioneered the development of natural alternatives to chemical methods of insect pest eradication since 1990.

In the past many different methods have been used to eradicate insect pests from organic materials and of these a variety of chemical applications have survived until now. During the last few years however, research has brought about universal condemnation of chemical pest control methods. Governmental and environmental agencies are actively legislating against the use of harmful substances. More recently methyl bromide, the versatile chemical fumigant, has been classified as an ozone depleting compound and scientists and researchers are anxiously searching for alternatives.

Using only naturally occurring elements, air and water, sound biological principles and established laws of physics, Thermo Lignum’s® ecological WARMAIR and NOXIA techniques will sympathetically eradicate damage-causing insect pests, such as woodworm, death watch beetle, moths and carpet beetle etc., from a wide spectrum of organic materials, including wood, paper, textiles, leather, fur and natural history specimens, in objects ranging from artwork and furniture to rugs, tapestries and garments, through structural and architectural components of timber frame buildings. In addition, the Thermo Lignum® WARMAIR process is being used successfully to combat Dry Rot.

Furthermore, the absence of any chemicals or noxious gases during the process allows immediate reuse of the items upon completion of the treatment, without risk of harm to your health the object, or the environment.

We operate static Thermo Lignum® WARMAIR chambers in London and Heidelberg in Germany and our mobile treatment units can be deployed throughout Europe. Assignments have been undertaken in France, Holland, Switzerland, Austria, Ireland, Poland and the United Kingdom.

Our European client base extends from national institutions, museums and galleries, through major antiques auction houses and fine art dealers, to leading restorers and conservators and a whole host of private collectors, all of whose endorsements are a testimony to the unparalleled achievements of the unique Thermo Lignum® systems.
