| Thermo Lignum® offers a comprehensive range of applications in the fight against wood boring pests and dry rot in objects ranging from furniture and works of art to wooden building components, roof structures and entire buildings. In order to achieve a sensitive, chemical free, guaranteed eradication of pests, we have developed the WARMAIR and NOXIA techniques. The Thermo Lignum® WARMAIR process deploys just warm air and water. It is used to target pests such as woodworm (Anobium punctatum), death watch beetle, powder post beetle, longhorn beetle, moths, carpet beetle, etc. on the one hand, as well as fungi such as dry rot. The treatment is suitable for furniture, works of art, carpets, textiles and books, as well as fixed wooden structural components, such as staircases, wall panelling, church fixtures, roof trusses through to entire buildings.
The complementary Thermo Lignum® NOXIA technique is designed to specifically target the treatment of highly sensitive, fragile or distressed objects. These objects are incarcerated in an inert gas atmosphere for a calculated period of time with the intention of depriving the insects of vital oxygen.
The Thermo Lignum® WARMAIR and NOXIA techniques are the foundations of our ecological and object sensitive approach to sympathetic conservation and the preservation of both our heritage and the intrinsic value of objects.
